Why do I ache? This is a comment that I hear quite often from other people and often wonder it myself. This morning as I got out of bed I hurt all over. Not like the ache that comes from a day of good hard work using muscles that haven’t been used for months or maybe even years. No an ache that comes within the tissue itself.
I sat on the edge of my bed and started analyzing just like I had over a year and a half ago. I started to think of what I had eaten last night. I remembered the last time I had eaten the sweet and sour sauce (that I love by the way) from a restaurant that I like to eat at. I remember waking up and thinking the next time I eat there I need to pay attention to how I feel. Yup, the same feeling as before. It took me most of the day before I started to feel a little bit better. I had swelling in my arms, hands, and feet. My husband had made the comment my face was puffy this morning.
Now lets back up a little. I am kind of a health nut. I love things that are natural. I love using the essential oils and herbs to help my body feel better and to help me heal and strengthen.
I have to admit that I do have a sweet tooth. There are a few things that I really do like and you can’t help but eat them occasionally. Until I hurt so bad that I can hardly get out of bed. Then I learn to avoid them no matter how good they sound. I have 2 goodies that caused these same symptoms. It took me a couple of years before I figured it out. I kept thinking maybe I had just overdone it a little working. How could that be if I hadn’t worked hard the day before? I started to pay closer attention to what I had been doing and the amount of sleep and finally what I had eaten. Darn, it was the food after all. How depressing!! As soon as I cut these two goodies out of my diet the pain went away. What caused it? Both of these treats had artificial sweeteners in them.
I have started really watching the labels of the food that I eat. I think artificial things are really hard for my body to digest. It just doesn’t know what to do with the artificial sweeteners so it tucks it away and causes me pain and inflammation. When I drink some kinds of pop and juices I have the same reactions.
If you have some of these same reactions and have been searching for some answers maybe you should start to look at the food you eat and the things you drink. What might affect you might not really affect someone else. All of our bodies are so different.
I am not sure what they put in the sweet and sour sauce in this restaurant, but I can guarantee I will change what I order there from now on. It just isn’t worth how awful it makes my body feel. Don’t get me wrong I still love the ice cream, french fries, chocolate and lots of other good stuff. I just pay closer attention to how I feel after I eat it.
These opinions are my own. They are not meant to diagnose.
I hope you enjoyed my blog. Please feel free to comment. I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
