While we often put plenty of emphasis on our physical health, one aspect that is important to take just as much care over is your mental health. The last twelve months have been extremely challenging, where we have not been able to see friends and family members as we once would have, and we can’t freely go out to the normal daily activities we normally would.

This can all contribute to affecting our mental health and have us feeling out of sorts. This is why it is important to keep a check on both your own well being and that of your loved ones around you. If you are looking for some ways to take care of your mental health, we have put together a few tips for you here…
Check in with family and friends
While it might be difficult to physically visit our family and friends, that doesn’t mean you have to not see them. Why not set up regular facetime calls or quiz nights so that you can all have a catch up? Even just talking about mundane things like what you have been up to or what you are looking forward to when life is back to normal can get very beneficial for your mental wellbeing.
Do regular exercise
Not only is exercise good for the body, but it can also help your mental health too. Exercise releases endorphins which can make you feel happier, plus when you are feeling better about your appearance you will feel more positive too. There are so many exercises out there, from running and cycling to yoga, so if the mere idea of going for a sprint has you breaking out in a sweat, find something else to do that gets you moving but that you enjoy. If you are going to work out, be sure to invest in some high quality sports gear such as Curves Leggings that are designed for optimum performance when working out.
Find some mindfulness activities
If you are beginning to feel a bit stressed then it is a good idea to take part in some mindfulness activities. Why not get a journal that you can offload all your thoughts too? You could also try meditation which is the process of clearing your mind or yoga. You could also take some time to yourself to do what makes you happy. Have a bath and read a book, go for a walk or do some baking. Whatever it is that makes you feel relaxed and rejuvenated, be sure to make the time to do it.
These are just a few ways that you can take care of your mental health. Remember that it is okay not to feel okay and if you need help then don’t be afraid to ask for it. Even being surrounded by family can sometimes feel lonely, so it is best to nip it in the bud as soon as you can and avoid it getting worse. What are some top things you do to take care of your mental health? I would love to hear them!
