How to find the perfect gift for Mother’s Day? This is a question that many people struggle with. After wandering around the store with no thoughts of what to get, finally out of desperation grab something, just so they can say they gave a gift. Believing it is the thought that matters. Do you want to do better than this? I love to pick out gifts for people. I really enjoy a gift when a lot of thought goes in to the perfect present, just for me. It doesn’t matter what it costs, what means the most is that it was thought out, and was made or purchased just for me.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, but this article is not just for Mother’s Day, but for any gift giving holiday.
Finding the perfect gift:
The first thing I do is think about the person. What do they like? Just because someone may use a vacuum to clean their home it doesn’t necessarily mean that a vacuum is the perfect gift. I guess the first thing to think of is do you want to get something that they need or something they will enjoy? Maybe a vacuum is something that would make the perfect gift if the person has expressed they really would like one. But others may see it as just work and not something that was picked out especially for them. So what do you do?
We are back to thinking about the person. What are their hobbies? Does this person like to garden, electronics, clothes, gadgets, or maybe cooking? All of these are clues to think about when purchasing the perfect gift. Now you have some ideas about them lets break them down even more. Once you figure out what types of things they like, look at your price range and the types of gifts you can afford. Yes, maybe a new car would make the most awesome gift, and they really need it, but is this in your budget? If so that is awesome, but you really need to be realistic. Something else to think about. Is the gift something you would like to receive? This doesn’t mean that you buy something you would like, it means if you were them would you like to receive it.
When holidays and birthdays are getting close. Pay attention. You may hear just what they want in a conversation. This is a great way to get clues.
Gift giving is not really all that hard if you just pay attention to the important things. Listen with your heart. One more really important item to remember is to be gracious if you are on the receiving end. Gratitude is a very important part in our lives and very important to remember.
Good luck in your gift buying adventure. You know you found the perfect gift when the person thinks of you every time they see it or use it. Buying gifts can be as much fun as getting the gift yourself.
