Meet Ritz. I know it is a funny name. Our three-year old grandson named her while Read More eating a mouthful of Ritz Crackers. It just sort of stuck.
Every farm needs a good farm dog and we happen to have two. Ritz is a Border Collie. She is just barely a year old and has so much energy. She always needs a job to do. When she goes with us to do our work, she always finds fun. I could take a lesson or two from her in finding joy in my work, sometimes.
She loves to go with Shawn while he moves pipe. She finds great entertainment in the sprinklers as you can tell. At the house when we are watering animals with the hose, she loves to run in front of the hose and bite at the water. Then she sits at the watering trough and just watches the water run in. I know a little goofy, but that’s our Ritz.
Ritz has a fun personality and always want to be the center of attention.
She is good with my animals although I really don’t think they like her very much. Probably because she is a puppy and always tries to lick their noses. I have yet to see a donkey that likes to have their nose licked by an over active dog.
She is good with my chickens and I haven’t had any problems with her getting into them. She really likes our cat Chester, and he likes her too.
One of her favorite things to do is to run our wind break of trees flushing the Robins out of the Honeysuckles. They fly up to the power line or land on the pivot. She then runs to the power line or the pivot and stands and stares at them until they fly back to the row of trees. Then she starts the process over again. She is so entertaining to watch.
I hope you enjoy the video of Ritz. Feel free to share it. I am sure it will put a smile on someone’s face!
