Hi, my name is Brenda Anderson. I live on a farm in the heart of Idaho. I love being The Farmers Wife, a mom and a Grandma. Living on a farm is a fun experience, and at times a little stressful and busy.
I have to say although I love to garden, spin, felt and write children’s books my favorite thing about living on a farm is the animals. Animals just have a way of making you feel happy. If you have a pet of your own then you probably totally understand that statement.
Sometimes when my animals do their goofy little things I imagine what they would be saying and why they are doing it. This is where my children’s books come from. My animals just make me laugh and bring me so much joy.
Another place you may find me if I am not enjoying my family would be in the dirt. Not just any dirt but my herb garden or my vegetable garden. There is just something about sitting in the dirt and pulling weeds. I love the time to just think and the satisfaction I get from the end products.
Some days are not totally glamorous on a farm I promise. There are days I find myself sitting in a tractor helping my husband and at times driving the Semi as he loads it on the trailer to bring it out of the field. This can at times get really boring but I enjoy watching the birds sore through the sky or our dog Ritz hunting for voles. There is always some thing to looks at.
At the end of the day when the work is done, dinner is fixed and the animals are fed I love to relax in my porch swing. Something about that soothing squeak of the swing as I swing back and forth relaxing from a busy day of work.
Farm life is hard work but it is rewarding. I have learned one thing in this throughout my life….. dreams can come true. You just have to believe in yourself and work towards them.
What kind of grape leaf do you use? I have macadine grapes growing here,
Hi,
Thank you for your comment. I am not sure what variety I have. It is one that will grow in our area. I would think any type of grape leaf would work. There are so many varieties.
